Kaeng Krachan National Park by Pongpol Adireksarn
On October 26, 2023, My first visit to Kaeng Krachan National Park after the Kaeng Krachan Forest Complex including the national park was inscribed as the third natural World Heritage Site of Thailand by UNESCO in 2021. It was a short impromptu two-hour venture but I was fortunate to sight and photograph a leap of several spectacled langurs and a leap of four white-handed gibbons, both of which are endangered species, foraging on a large tree on a trail 15 kms deeper into the jungle. I also spotted an Oriental Pied Hornbill and a black giant squirrel, both of which are near threatened species. I've made a serious commitment to myself to return to Kaeng Krachan National Park in the near future to search for Indochinese tiger, Asian tapir, leopard, black panther, and sun bear, all of which are possible sightings.
